The holiday season has finally arrived! The festive season brings sweater weather, bright lights, and more time to Relax and Reflect with family – and your faithful friend Netflix.
There will be quality time spent getting together with loved ones, chatting and playing games. There are grand plans for Ice Skating, lots of Skiing in our nearby mountains, and a serious New Year’s Eve fondue spread. All the stuff of the perfect Christmas card image.
But what our entire family is hoping for is a little down time. Life is busy and a break in the schedule allows for a little extra time to reboot.
Netflix is always our favourite friend our family loves spending time with when we want to just chill out. And (Don’t tell the kids!) but our big family gift this year is a new television!!! It’s probably too big for the room it is going into but AWESOME, right?
I have some serious plans for my Netflix lineup too, with great family selections choices plus choices just for us big people.
Be Last Day of School Ready with NETFLIX
We are in the home stretch with only one more day until Christmas break
With the kids being home for two weeks from school, we know it’s not long before the first “I’M BORED” escapes your kids’ lips during holiday break. That’s why, starting December 23rd, Netflix and Dreamorks Animation Television will treat families to 13 hours of adventure, suspense, and limitless imagination with the all-new series DreamWorks Trollhunters.
DreamWorks Trollhunters will tug at all the right heartstrings as families curl up and plunge headlong into a fantastical tale of astonishing creatures, secret civilizations and powerful villains bent on revenge. When the world of humans and trolls collide and an ordinary teenager is beckoned to save them both, parent and child alike will find themselves cheering on an unlikely yet lovable hero.
More Quality Family Viewing
As part of this month’s learning with the Human Venture Institute (Click HUMAN VENTURE to learn more.), we have been asked to watch episode 7 of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.
I plan to watch all of the episodes with my family so that we can expand our horizons of understanding and caring together.
It’s streaming on Netflix so it’s something you can share with your family too. I’d love to hear your reflections of what it takes to expand our horizons, why it is resisted, and what it takes to persist.
Binge Worthy Viewing
You’re Welcome. I have heard it described as heartbreaking, heartwarming, disturbing, and deep. (Trigger Warning: exploration of death.)
If my choices aren’t exactly the line up you are wishing for, Netflix has put together a Holiday Streaming Calendar full of awesome content to watch! It’s like an advent calendar, but better – all the excitement, none of the calories. Unveil a new holiday or binge-worthy title on the service every day for a relaxing and festive holiday break. Towards the end of December, get excited for 2017 with Netflix’s New Year’s Eve countdowns!
Just in time for long holiday trips, Netflix recently announced that members can now download many of their favourite series and movies at no extra cost. To start downloading today, make sure your Netflix app is updated to the latest version and head to the ‘Available for Download’ menu on your tablet or mobile device.
Now all you have to do is press play and settle in…no matter where you are!
Happy Holidays, from our mADD family and your friends at NETFLIX!
Disclosure: I am so darn happy to be a part of the Netflix #StreamTeam. I receive promotional items and a Netflix subscription in order to find great content that I can share with YOU. As always, all opinions are my own.
But really, who doesn’t love Netflix?
